We stand amazed at all the Lord has been revealing as we’ve positioned ourselves to focus our prayer on the coming provincial election. I’m sure we have all experienced this principle: whatever we focus our prayer on is what captures our heart. We at S.H.O.P. are falling more in love with our province and becoming more committed to see her rise up to her destiny and see God glorified. The Lord is unveiling root issues, mindsets and strongholds that are keeping our province and the people in captivity. As intercessors, we are standing in the gap, repenting for our sin and crying out for God’s mercy to sweep the land. There is a predominate conflicting spirit over Saskatchewan. One is fear based that wants comfort, security and things to remain the same. The other is a pioneering, risktaking, adventurous spirit that feels held back manifesting in agitation, frustration and anger. In Hosea 9:15- “All their wickedness (says the Lord), is focused in Gilgal, for there I hated them…” What does God hate that was done in Gilgal? Many things were done at that location, a few being: God rolled back Israel’s shame of unbelief and not wanting to go to war resulting in a 40 year wilderness journey; Saul not waiting for Samuel initiated the sacrifice; John the Baptist crying out “prepare ye the way of the Lord”. In 1 Sam. 11:15 it is recorded that at Gilgal the people of Israel made Saul their King. Just prior to this in chapters 8-13, is the account of Israel crying out to Samuel that they wanted to be like other nations, to have a King rule over them and to fight for them. The Lord gave them what they wanted with a warning of what it will be like to have a man rule over them. God hates when we look to man for our provision, safety, security and fulfillment. We have been repenting as a church that we have looked to our pastor, leaders, and organization to satisfy us and when it hasn’t happened we have been critical and demanding. As citizens of Saskatchewan we have looked to the government to take care of us and no man or party can accomplish this impossible task. The Lord Jesus Christ is our King and it is to Him that we must individually look for all that we need. It is our responsibility to pray in and vote for God fearing integral individuals and then lift them up in prayer as they sit in office, serving the people.

We must take responsibility as Christians to be awake and alert in the gates. When we look to God, we have the right perspective of who is in charge and then ask Him to appoint leaders in each constituency to administrate His will.

It has been so good to meet at the legistative building to pray on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10AM to noon, if you’re in Regina feel free to join us.

We have our conference calls on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. If you have not joined us as yet, please do. Your voice is needed and we so desire for more areas to be represented. We are sensing that one of the strongholds in Saskatchewan is fear and intimidation and the way to defeat it is to rise above it ourselves. We want to encourage you to call Christians together in your area to pray for this election, and inform us that we may be encouraged. There are three weeks left before we vote, let heaven record that we have been one of the company that has made a difference in the history of Saskatchewan. We love you and need you,
